Interesting European bayonet circa mid 19th century, marked S. H. V. B. 189. And 1855-380. The blade measures 19-1/4”, the bayonet measures 22-5/8” overall and is for a large bore musket of .69 to .79 caliber. The blade shows many small proofs, and a crown over D, which appears German, along with a spring mounted by a screw that slips over the sight. Good condition, light to moderate pitting and erosion.
