Performed by an unknown gunsmith, this arm uses the frame of a Savage Double Action Percussion Navy as the basis of a cartridge firing rifle. The front portion of the trigger ring has been removed, the trigger guard reshaped, tangs straightened, hammer crudely altered with a separate rebounding firing pin, top and bottom straps altered and the cylinder cut down and fitted with a new rear end. Rocky Mountain blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sights on the tip-up octagon barrel, with a pewter tipped and silver fitted forearm, and checkered pistol grip stock with mother of pearl gripcap, silver starburst inlay on the left side, and a two piece German silver buttplate.

Condition: Fair as period modified, with a smooth brown-gray patina, some mild pitting contained to the cylinder and scattered spotting and handling marks. Stock is loose and ill-fitting and remains good, with the forearm wedge absent, chipping and scratches. Mechanically needs adjustment.
