Interesting American flintlock pistol circa early 19th century, approx. 16” overall, 10” steel barrel, approx. .58 caliber’. Lock shows Ketland markings. Left side of breech shows a large “WP” stamp. The metal surfacesshow light to heavy scattered surface erosion and pinprick pitting within a dark patina. The mounts are plain brass, stock very simple with a sheet-brass thimble, no buttcap. Stock shows some dings, mars, scratches anddents. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration with an old handmade replacement screw and topjaw. The pistol has a military style.
