Our Assessment: The Model 62 rifles started production in 1932 and proved extremely popular over the years, more so for aesthetic reasons than for their accuracy. Dead flat receivers, round barrels, outstanding wood-to-metal fit—the craftsmanship and work ethic that went into the guns was valuable to the shooters at the time, and this value remains to this day with collectors. This Model 62A was manufactured in 1942, it includes its original factory box and has matching serial numbers on the receiver and tang. This example is in incredible condition, appearing to have spent most of its 80 plus year old life safely inside its factory box. This well preserved original Model 62 takedown rifle should be of great interest to Winchester collectors. Please see our photos, good luck and happy bidding!
