Important Texas Ranger Marlin Model 336 R.C. lever action carbine, .30-30 cal., 20” barrel, blue finish, wood stocks with red “E” painted on right side of butt stock and “DPS-26062” stamped on the left side of the receiver, #6900 in overall finecondition showing the majority of its original finish, fine bore, crisp action and markings, very good to fine stocks with some scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage. This gun is accompanied by a folder of information includingan original document on Texas Ranger letterhead dated March 19, 1974, referencing this gun by serial number and certifying it was carried by Ed Gooding while serving in the Texas Rangers. The letter is notarized and signed by then SeniorRanger Captain Clint Peoples. This letter is addressed to the late Mr. Charles Schreiner, III, of YO Ranch fame and from his collection the gun originated (Little John’s sold Charlie’s collection of Texas Ranger guns in April, 2003);also included is the original DPS property inventory card for the gun and a 3” x 5” card Charlie kept in his collection for the gun indicating “Gooding was stationed in Kerrville for many years” (near the YO Ranch) and further
