Important Sharps Model 2 four barrel derringer, brass frame, wood grips, #7779 given to Alfred Heimer, William F. Cody’s personal attendant and Chef, by Buffalo Bill himself, in overall good condition showing a honey colored patina to brassframe, grey patina to barrels with pitting on left two barrels from contact with moisture; good action, matching serial numbers, fair bores, good grips, light frame markings. This gun originally was sold by Little John’s on March 28, 2007 whenconsigned by noted Wyoming collector Dave Zerbe along with his entire collection of Buffalo bill Cody-related guns and artifacts which descended in Zerbe’s family from Alfred Heimer, Cody’s close friend, confidant and personal chef for manyyears. This derringer passed from Heimer thru Marie Neithammer, Alfred’s niece, who Cody affectionately referred to as “his little flower”, and on to Mr. Zerbe.
