Fine, impressive and historically significant pair of fully mounted, Colorado penitentiary spurs featuring classic Canon City German silver inlaid engraved floral motif with Robert Baldwin’s prisoner number “9647” stamped on the chap guard. 12-point, 2 ½” inlaid rowels, upturned heart-shaped buttons with TM brand. Includes Edward H. Bohlin lined two-piece floral carved spur straps adorned with large 2 1/4” nickel conchos emblazoned with Mix’s iconic “TM” trademark and affixed with 3-piece Bohlinmade and marked buckle sets. When these 1920s spurs re-surfaced in the 1980s they only had one of the TM conchos remaining. Consequently, Larry Howard commissioned acclaimed Los Osos (California) bit and spur maker/restorer, Bruce Haener to replicate the original missing concho design. Boots are not included (they are lot 51).

Provenance: From the Estate of Larry Howard
