Imperial era German officer’s sword marked on top of spine of blade by maker in Nürnberg in fancy script. The sword measures 37” overall with 31 ½” blade that is almost straight with only a slight curve andmeasures approx.. 1” across thickest part of the ricasso. The simple D guard is constructed of brass and the grip is shark skin or ray skin wrapped with brass wire. The condition of the blade is very good plus and the handle shows some small losses. The scabbard shows some minor pitting. Generally very good overall and the name in very fancy letters may be F. M. Lauschinger in Nürnberg. Est.: $200-$400
