This is an etched and worked copper cross or bird effigy necklace traded by the Hudson Bay Fur Trading Co. to the Northern Plains Native American Indians. This shows the “HB” (Hudson Bay Co.) hallmark along with the fleur de lis, crowned standing lion, and dog hallmark. The piece is from circa 1800-1850 and is on a trade beads strand from the Northern Plains Indians. The trade beads are all 18th to 19th century glass beads including green and red sea glass or sand cast beads along with bright green faceted beads. The pendant is made of solid copper with an etched design. It shows good condition. The pendant measures 4" x 4.5" and the necklace measures 32" long.
