The car was just recently being displayed at a National Auto Museum in Auburn, Indiana and just won the "This is a chance of a lifetime to own a car that was built for and owned by Howard Hughes, the Aviator! The car was just recently being displayed at a National Auto Museum in Auburn, Indiana and just won the "Concours D' Elegance"for People's Choice in Auburn, Indiana. The car has also been displayed at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in Oregon with pictures next to the one and only "Spruce Goose". During a complete frame off restoration, a credit card dated 1936 from acompany named C.D. Rand & Co., was found with Howard Hughes Signature dated from 1936. The company that issued the card was a general tube and tire dealer that also sold batteries, etc. Much like a modern day Les Schwab Tire Shop thatissued it to Howard Hughes for store credit. The credit card goes with the car when sold. The restoration of this car was a frame-off and has just been done about 12 months ago. This car started out as Howard Hughes personal 1936 Lincoln K model V-12 Limousine. Hughes converted the car shortly thereafter into his custom version of what a 1936-7 "Boat Tail Speedster" should be.
