Horn drinking cup with carved decorations and wooden bottom made similar to an American powder horn circa late 18th to early 19th century. The horn shows a portrait of a sailing ship, a rattlesnake, the initials"REH" points of the compass, a heart pierced with thorns, the sun with a cross, the branch of a tree with pinecones and other small decorative motifs with pie crust edge at top. The horn cup measures 4-1/4" from the topto the end of the plug and approx. 2-1/2" across the widest part of the plug. The wood plug is lightly lined carved in a cross hatch motif. An interesting piece of Americana. Est.; $1,500-$3,000.
