Highly desirable “The Royal” Rook Rifle by Holland & Holland, 26” octagon barrel in .297/250 cal. marked on left flat near breech: “Winners of all the ‘Field’ rifle trials”, three stage flip-up rear sight with one stationary sight (50, 100,150, 200), bead front sight, blue and case hardened finish, finely engraved receiver, checkered deluxe wood stocks with inlaid plaque on underside of butt stock engraved “B. M 1911”, blued steel butt plate, #18978. This gun is inoverall fine condition showing the majority of its original bright blue finish on barrel trigger guard and bottom of receiver; also the majority of its vivid case colors on the receiver plus classic English engraving on the receiver, barrelrelease lever, trigger guard, semi-pistol grip cap and underside receiver access plate; single trigger, very good bore, crisp action, finely checkered safety button on upper tang with gold inlaid “SAFE” directive in appropriate buttonposition; wood stocks are fine overall with beautiful graining and accented ebony cap on forend.
