High quality percussion muzzle-loading target rifle or ‘slug gun’ signed “C. Siebert Colombus, O”. The rifle measures 49” overall with 32” heavy octagon barrel showing removable false muzzle, double-set triggers,period peep sight, hooded target front sight. The barrel shows 60-80% original blue drifting to brown. The action and mounts show considerable case hardening going to patina. There is some light erosion and pinprickpitting around the firing areas. The hammer shows a chiseled wolf or dog’s head at its front. The stock is high-grade walnut with good deluxe grain checkered at the wrist. At least very good overall. .45 caliber, nearexcellent bore. Could have been used as a slug gun or Civil War sniper.
