High quality flintlock pistol with ornate high relief cast silver mounts and profusely silver inlaid stock, circa 1810-1830. The pistol measures 14” overall, 8-1/4” round barrel of approx. 68 caliber; the barrelshows a fine Damascus pattern and the lock is nicely engraved; the mounts are cast in high relief and scenes of arms, flags, cannon and etc.; the stock is profusely inlaid with wire and floral plaques that are handengraved. The condition is very good + to near fine with a slight coating of spray lacquer, no sanding or appreciable wear; the inlay is 90-95% intact with only slight loss; the top jaw and screw are restorations andthe lock is otherwise original. There are no markings on the pistol other than what appear to be French proofs on the rear of the breech on the left side. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
