High quality double barrel cased percussion shotgun with elaborate Birdseye Maple stock signed “Delipire A’ Paris” with his title of royal gun maker in French. The gun measures 43” overall when assembled with 27 ½” barrels of approximately 16gauge. The top of the rib is fancifully gold inlaid in script letters and also the locks are signed just behind the hammers. The barrels show 95% to 98% European bright tobacco brown finish with a striped pattern showing a few minor spotsof erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The lock and mounts are bright coined finished and show just some minor spotting and aging. The stocks are fine to near excellent and the entire arm was expertly restored by a first classEuropean craftsman probably in the 19th or early 20th-century. The gun is contained within its original to the 19th-century green velveteen lined case with shot flask, powder flask and collapsible rod along with two compartment coversand some miscellaneous associated accessories of the correct era. The interior of the case is very good plus with some minor impressions, fading and normal aging. The exterior of the case is a light-colored Walnut or fruit wood in very good
