High-grade Darne double barrel side-by-side shotgun with patented Cannon breech in 12 gauge with 25 and nearly three-quarter inch barrel’s serial number 6901 interior of action and numbered 2900 and 8925 on interior of rib with serial number 690 also in front of the lug. The bottom of the water tables show a full set of French proofs from St. Etienne for smokeless powder, choked cylinder right, improved modified left. The barrelsretain 90% to 95% of the original blue just starting to age and tone nicely. The frame is highly engraved with fine scrolls and florals. The fences on the receiver show floral chiseling with gold inlay and thetrigger guard is engraved to match frame. The gun is stocked in burl walnut and carved with a pattern in the wood. The button release mounted in the bottom of the forend shows a multi-color gold inlaid with fancyintertwined initials which may be an D.L. There was a small plaque removed from the belly of the stock. The stock measures 15 inches to the end of the wood and there has been a 1 ½ inch piece of wood added to the
