For your bidding pleasure is this Hereford Brand Tex Tan of Yoakum Floral Tooled Saddle. the Hereford Brand, out of the leather capital of Texas - Yoakum. In the early 1900's a man by the name of Carl Welhausen acquired a small tannery on Brushy Creek, moving the business into the heart of town proved good for business, by 1929, the name was changed to Texas Hide & Leather Co., with an expanding inventory of leather products from saddles to wallets, it became Texas Tanning & Manufacturing Company. by 1956, the name was once again changed to "Tex Tan", and merged with the Tandy Corp. This saddle is marked with a makers mark on both fenders just under the latigo D-Ring reading: "Hereford Brand Tex Tan of Yoakum." The latigo keeper has the stamp 1614 and a serial number: 369-6630. The saddle includes beautiful floral tooling to the Cheyenne roll, skirt of the saddle, seat jockey, fenders and the swells of the saddle. While missing some saddle strings the saddle is otherwise in good condition, with some damage to the leather stitching along the front of the horn. The measurements of the saddle are 34" x 25 1/2" with a 15" seat.
