Hassam Brothers Bowie knife with stag grip pictured in “The Bowie Knife” by Norm Flayderman page number 322 and formally from this iconic expert’s personal collection. Flayderman details the fact that this marking was used between 1860 and 1865 in the heart of the Civil War. The knife measures 14” overall with a 9” spear point blade and remains in good original condition with scabbard engraved on top of throat in script, “C. F. Jordan”. The blade shows some chips on the back of the edge and some pitting but is generally good overall with most of his original polish and nearly it’s full dimensions. The stag grip is in good condition. The scabbard is well-worn and shows a large tear, flaking, small losses and the button hanger is missing. The scabbard is fair to poor. Hassam is one of the most recognized American Bowie knife makers and the Civil War marking is desirable. Est.: $6,000-$12,000.
