Available for bidding in this lot is an excellent example of early Harrington & Richardson (H&R) Arms Company, Supercuff Handcuffs Model No. 123. This pair of nickel plated handcuffs manufactured circa 1930-1945 were ahead of their time featuring "double-lock" functions as well as "anti-shimming" grooves cut into the bow, both of these functions severely cutting down the chance of an escape. Insert the key into the lock post and spin 90 degrees to unlock or lock the cuffs, an additional quarter turn "double-locks" the cuffs. These handcuffs include the original key, however - it is absent from its box and paperwork. Each handcuff is stamped "H&R Arms Company - Worcester, MASS, U.S.A. - PAT. 1,984,677" as well as a proud "MADE IN U.S.A". All-in-all, these handcuffs are in very good shape, especially for the age, harboring only minor scratches and patina. The cuffs measure approximately 10 1/4" long, and 3" wide when the cuff is closed and locked.
