Available for your consideration in this lot is an extremely fine and well crafted Basiran Rug, Handmade in Persia in the Nain style. This rug which originates from the middle of the 20th century, is a quintessential example of oriental rug making, with a fantastic and expansive color pallet - predominantly ivory and khaki colored, and a dense knot pattern. The rug boasts a central Shah Abbasi Medallion with beautiful floral motifs surrounding. The border of the rug displays symmetrical pattern, featuring floral design, playful fish, and ornate medallions. There is a tag on the back side of the rug which reads "Basiran - Genuine Oriental Rugs - Basiran Super Chinese - (FA) Handmade in China - Handmade in Persia - 100% Wool Pile RN22510". The rug shows very good condition. The rug measures 72" wide, and 108" long.
