Half stocked percussion plains type rifle, .42 cal., 36” octagon barrel marked “Milsted Maker”, double set triggers (working at time of cataloging), brass trigger guard and butt plate, pewter fore end tip, wood ramrod. This gun is in overall fair to good condition showing a dark brown patina on the metal surfaces with scattered erosions and moderate old pitting around the firing area, several bands of light surface rust on barrel at ramrod ferrules; overall good wood stock with scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage; a classic looking half-stock American rifle that we would date to the mid-1800s. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance.
