.410 SHOTGUN. Cal. .410 3" chambers. S# 192803. Made with 28" Armor steel barrels fitted with raised flat matted rib; usual L.C. Smith markings are on tops. Case hardened small feather weight sidelock action has automatic safety and double triggers. "L.C. Smith" is on each lockplate. Watertable is stamped with S# and grade. Trigger guard is blued. Capped pistol grip buttstock of plain American walnut measures 14-1/8" over ribbed hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend has J spring release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter at muzzles: L .386 (Full?). R.396 (Mod?). STOCK: DAH: 2-5/8". DAC: 1-7/16-". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/8". WEIGHT: 6lb. 5oz. CONDITION: very fine. Barrels retaining over 90% original blue with some high edge wear and some scattered marks. Action and lockplates retain over 80% of their original case hardening color, most loss due to hand wear around bottom of action and some judicious cleaning on right side leaving some staining. Blue on sharp edges of trigger is starting to silver. Stocks retain nearly all their original varnish finish with a small number of minor marks and a large number of scratches mostly on butt. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically fine. Just under 2,500 of these scarce guns were made, most had 26" barrels. (23-975/MGM). C&R. $5,000-8,000.
