Born of an unknown date and living to 1877, Henri Mangeot was a supplier of arms to the Court of Brussels, military officers and high society, best known for his double action percussion revolvers. This knife pistol was produced without sights, marked on top of the barrel "H. MANGEOT ARGR. DE LA COUR A BRUXELLES", with the in-line striker decorated with a floral design on the rear. The underside of the pistol is fitted with the straight folding trigger alongside the clip point knife blade, 3 1/4" long with a small crown stamp and a silver "D" proof stamp on the left ricasso. A small cap box is present on top of the wrist. Fitted with a pair of smooth ivory grip panels on each side, with a spiral engraved divider and serrations on the steel along the front.
