H. Laudenschlager Marked Superposed Barrel Percussion Longarm
The top flat of the rifled barrel is marked "H. LAUDENSCHLAGER". In Frank Sellers' book, "American Gunsmith," Henry Laudenslager is noted as a Pennsylvania gunsmith (note the spelling differences between Laudenslager in the book and Laudenschlager as marked on this gun). The rifled barrel gauges at approximately .44 percussion and the smoothbore barrel gauges at approximately 410 gauge. The lock plates have scroll engraving. Double set triggers and fixed sights on the rifled barrel. The crescent buttplate and spur trigger guard are brass. Curly maple straight grip stock with patch box. A dog and stag sculpted brass wall hanger with the hook bound in leather is included in this lot.

Condition: Very good. The barrels have a smooth brown patina with some minor flash pitting. The rifled barrel has a crudely repaired replacement hammer. The locks have a mixed gray patina. The brass is fine. The stock is fine with numerous minor dings and scratches. The wall hanger is fine.
