Dovetailed silver blade front and notch rear sights, with "J.F.Gehrett" on the top flap. Lightly scroll engraved lock, with "H.E. LEMAN/LANCASTER PA." under the drum style bolster, pistol grip trigger guard and double set triggers. Smooth full length stock, with a brass tip, a German silver plate on the underside of the forearm, engraved panels at the wrist, "33" on the underside, raised cheekpiece with a German silver starburst plate, and an engraved brass buttplate. With a grouping of internet research related to Mr. Gehrett and his Civil War military service.

Condition: Fine overall, with an attractive deep brown patina on the barrel, with light spotting and handling marks overall. Pitting is present around the bolster and hammer. Stock is also fine, with mild dents and scuffs. Mechanically fine. What a nice rifle! Additional Information: the triggers or lock needs adjustment as the hammer will not stay cocked.
