Assorted group of seven transfer-printed earthenware plates and bowls comprising: a large blue transfer plate with rural river landscape and floral border; a polychrome plate in an Imari/dragon style palette of blue, green and iron-red with central roundel and scrolling border; a scalloped plate with chinoiserie buildings and trees in red, blue and green; a deep blue transfer bowl with romantic landscape and figures in a boat; two small portrait plates with central half-length figures within printed cartouches and broad floral borders; and a small plate with simple blue scalloped border on a white ground. Most pieces are printed underglaze on cream/white earthenware bodies; several with molded or scalloped rims. Backstamps on the reverse include various printed crests and cartouches, confirming production by multiple English Staffordshire and related factories, with at least one probable continental (French or German) maker among the portrait plates. Together they form a representative study group of 19th-century transferware in blue, polychrome and Imari-style palettes.
