Great lot of service medals and ribbons earned by Thomas Ward, born in 1899 and died on October 8, 1988. According to an information sheet accompanying this grouping, Ward served in the Canadian Army in WW II,serving in France from 1916 thru 1918, receiving a severe shrapnel wound less than a week before Armistice Day. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Tom again entered service, this time in the U.S. Marine Corps despite his physical disability from the WW I wound. He worked in a clerical position in the Southwest Pacific Theater of War and remained in service until the surrender of the Japanese empire in 1945. The grouping of medals and ribbons are contained in an old cigar box with three layers and include six reunion delegate ribbons for California events dating from 1934 thru 1938; six lapel pins commemorating variousservice, mostly Canadian but also one Navy and one USMC pins; also six military medals including WW I Canadian medal, numbered and marked to Ward; another Canadian cross medal; two WW I medals both with his name on the
