Great lot of personal effects from the estate of stage and screen actor Leo Carillo, maybe best known in the mid-1950s as “Pancho” in the long running TV series “The Cisco Kid”. Included in this lot is a grouping of five different cowboy and dress hats from the estate but most importantly is a fantastic jeweler’s made custom gold and diamond badge approx. 2-1/2” in diameter with an engraved five pointed star inside an engraved circle with five “points” outside the circle showing diamonds faceted in each point, the center of the star with a larger diamond with small star surrounding the gem and the words “CHIEF” on the star in blue enamel and the words “PORTLAND” AND “POLICE” on the outer circle also in blue enamel. The overall condition of the badge is excellent, there are no hallmarks visible on the back of the badge; the findings are of a standard pin and “c” retaining hook. Accompanying this lot are several copies of news articles concerning Leo Carillo and his participation as Grand Marshal of the International Fiesta of July 14-16, 1941, sponsored by the Pacific Coast Internation Association of Law enforcing Officers in Portland, Oregon.
