Granny Martin engraved silver overlay horse bit, maker marked, in overall good condition with patriotic theme in engraving showing spread eagle over American flag shield. Elihu Granville Martin (1895-1991) lived the true life of a cowboy and vaquero, principally in the San Diego, CA. area his entire life; he got the nickname “Granny” as a boy since he wore glasses as was referred to by the other kids at his school as “Ol’ granny four-eyes”. In addition to bits and spurs, Granny made saddles, braided riatas and could fix anything needing fixin’ around his cattle ranch up to the day he died at the age of 96. Est.: $400-$800.
