Good quality European made swept hilt rapier for dueling from the late 19th to early 20th-century with wavy blade. The sword measures 41 ½” overall with a 33” blade. The condition is very good with some slight staining and minor pitting. The gripis of a hardwood with dark grain and maybe Rosewood. Although unmarked it appears to be German in style and quality. There were many schools of dueling in Europe and South America who carried on the tradition clear into the 20thcentury. Argentine officers fought many duels with swords and guns well into the 20th century and they also practiced mock duels and attended fencing schools. Est.: $250-$500
