Gold Texas Ranger's badge made from coin with name "Clint Peoples" at top, "Texas Rangers" on bottom, and "Sr. Capt" on star. The badge is finely made and enameled, high quality throughout and absolutely original;from the collection of Charlie Shriner of the YO Ranch, with his number 1020 on reverse. Charlie Shriner had the finest private collection of Ranger badges and material ever assembled in private hands, much of which he obtained directly from the Rangers themselves. Clint Peoples was born in Bridgeport, Texas, August 25, 1910. He served as a Deputy Sheriff and Chief Deputy in Conroe, Texas during the oil boom. He was appointed a Special Texas Ranger by Gov. Ma Ferguson, and he policed the state's 4 horserace tracks. During the regime changes, he joined the Texas Department of Public Safety, and in 1946 he was appointed to theTexas Rangers and assigned to Headquarters in Austin. In 1953 he was promoted to Captain of Company F. He worked many major crime cases, and in 1969 was made Senior Ranger Captain and transferred to Austin. He
