This Is A Golconda Wedgwood Vase Made In England In The 1880s. This Style Of Art Is An Elaborate Raised Gold/ Bronze Paste On Bone China, Which Gives The Art A Raised Relief Look. This Was Introduced About 1885 By George Anthony MarsdenWhen He Was Working For Wedgwood.This Vase Stands 14" Tall. It Is In A Jug Like Shape, The Neck Is Approx. 5" Long, The Blubous Body Is 27" Around, The Base Is 4" In Diameter. The First 2 1/4" Of The Neck Is Dark Brown With Small Gilded FlowersAnd Leaves. The Next Part Of The Neck Has A Gold Look Paint In Pointed Petal Fashion Outlined In Gild. These Are 2 1/2" Down The Neck. From The Base Up Wards Aprox. 4" Are Rounded Brown Petals With The Same Small Gilded Flowers And Leaves,Outlined With Gilding. Ther Is A Small Gilded Fleur- De -Lis Between each Petal. The Remainder Of The Vase Is Cream With Three Large Pink Roses, Four Buds And Many Flowers That Look Like BlueBells. All Leaves, Stems And Buds Are In TheGolconda Motif. This Fills A Space 6 1/2" Around The Vase. There Is Heavy Gilding On Rim And Base. This Is A rare And Unique Piece Of Art.
