Germanic full stocked Jaeger style smooth-bore hunting gun circa approx. 1770, appears to be signed “Adal Fridrich in Raudintz” (in script). .60 caliber smoothbore octagon barrel measuring 32”. The gun is47-1/2” overall of medium to light weight construction. The gun shows an iron mounts with wooden triggerguard (most this era are brass). The stock is nicely checkered and carved with floral motifs. There is a silverowner’s plaque inlaid into the wrist with three fancy script initials. There is a fancy barrel-maker’s mark struck into the breech and inlaid with copper. The condition is very good plus with metal surfaces showing alight grey patina, some scattered light to moderate pinprick pitting. Stocks are very good plus with sharp edges, original to the period horn tipped ramrod and endcap are retained. The gun is in its originalflintlock configuration with correct small parts.
