German military style short sword circa approximately 1880 with original scabbard and showing regimental markings. The hilt shows number 106. R. 12. 119. The blade shows FR and crown and helmet on ricasso which is aWeyersburg makers marking. The hilt also shows a good German type proof. The condition is good to very good with some minor pitting on the blade and nice patina to the brass. The scabbard shows some cracking and normalaging with some slight losses and a few areas of damage to the leather but sound and the throat shows a uncleaned patina matching to the hilt and tip. The sword measures 25” overall with 19 ½” blade that is nearly 2 ½to a quarter inches wide at widest point. Est.: $200-$400.
