German boar spear circa 1600 with nicely engraved and inscribed head pictured page 122 Stones Glossary and originally in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection. The metal portion measures 20” by 4 ¾” across the widest section of the blade. The spear measures 87” from tip to the end of the shaft. One panel engraved “Gott Verma, G.S.” and “Joh. Wags”. Two engraved vinettes with “Vert” and “Bruno”. The blade portion ismasterfully forged with raised ridges and reinforced construction of heavy gauge. Est.: $1850-3700
