German Standard Service Revolver designed for the Prussian army in the 1870's. Marked with makers initials in an oval above the trigger guard "V.C.S. * C.G.H./.SUHL." Pinched front sight with notched rear sight on stepped octagon barrel with a lip at the muzzle. Matching serial numbers on various parts, including partial serial numbers "89" on other parts including the screws, grip straps under the grip and trigger. Flat top strap, checkered hammer and safety catch. Each cylinder flute is numbered 1 through 6. Smooth walnut grips with grip cap numbered "320" with lanyard ring. Comes with leather holster marked "IGA/2GA/1898" on the inside flap.

Condition: Very good, the finish is mostly a smooth mottled brown patina with some wear on the edges and high areas. Traces of blue on the receiver near the safety catch and on the cylinder release lever. Mechanically excellent. The grips are good with some scratches and pressure dents. The holster is fine with tight stitching and the usual service wear.
