Offered for sale is a Beautiful German Aydt Falling Block Schuetzen 8mm Rifle. This rifle features a 32" full octagon barrel, falling block action, case hardened receiver, double set triggers, custom walnut stock, and competition peep sights. The Schuetzen is both a rifle and a style of competition steeped in European shooting tradition. There is no other firearm that looks or shoots quite like a Schuetzen. Elongated prongs on the rifle’s butt plate work hand in hand with the unique features to help competitors balance the rifle. Schuetzens are heavy, 12 to 15 pounds, much of that weight in the barrel. That weight adds stability when shooting off-hand, standing. The only position possible with the specialized Schuetzen design. This is a great example of a fine German rifle. The receiver is engraved and is marked "Original Aydt" and the barrel is marked "Aug. Jung. Viernau. B. Suhl." The rifle is believed to be chambered in 8mm, possibly 8.15mm x 46r. The rifle is in good condition showing handling wear on the stock, great bluing on the barrel showing minor surface rust, and a great bore with strong rifling. This rifle was manufactured between 1880-1930. Curio & Relic firearm, FFL transfer or NICS background check required. Serial number is 63
