George Peppard Screen Worn Costumes Pieces from Banacek
Shirt and pants worn by actor George Peppard in his famous 1970s detective series, Banacek. Peppard portrayed Thomas Banacek, a Polish-American private investigator who solved all manner of complex cases involving murder, theft and other crimes. With an already impressive list of film credits under his belt, Peppard went on to even higher visibility in the 1980s smash hit television series The A Team. This lot features one light blue button down shirt by Nat Wise with the sewn-in initials G P and a July 1972 date and a blue pair of Cotroneo pants with Peppard's name typewritten on it. Further includes a hangtag with the handwritten notation "George Peppard Banacek". Another shirt that was bundled with the aforementioned shirt and pants, having a Nat Wise label and sewn initials reading J B is also included. A hangtag reading "George Peppard Banacek" is attached to it. It is unconfirmed whether this final shirt is indeed Peppard's wardrobe. These items come from the collection of an individual whose mother helped mount charity auctions in the 1970s with Joan Rivers. Many celebrities donated clothing items to this end.
