General Curtis LeMay’s Colt Buntline Special Second Generation , .45 cal., 12” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #19507SA with factory black cardboard box and instructions, correct end label and bottom of box numbered “19507/BB1244” with factory letter confirming features and indicating shipment to Richard S. Boutelle at Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corp., Hagerstown, MD on February 28, 1958, in a shipment of 2 guns; accompanied by a binder of information on the General’s gun collection including this gun and the fact that Mr. Boutelle was a hunting partner of the General’s in Africa and this gun was given to the General as a gift by Mr. Boutelle. The Buntline is in like new condition showing little handling; the box is good with some fraying to the edges and separation along lid edges at various places; accompanied also by a tooled black leather holster and cartridge belt for the Buntline in very good to fine condition; a tan tooled leather holster for the gun in very good condition and a heavy duty leather rifle or shotgun boot with “General Curtis E. LeMay” leather tag sewn on the boot which is in overall good condition; collection hang tags are also included with this lot and are contained in the documenting binder. Est.: $4,000-$8,000.
