Schildt was born in Helena and adopted by his grandparents, living with them until they passed away. Member of the Blackfeet Tribe, 11/32 blood. Educated City College of San Francisco and at San Francisco Academy of Fine Art. Studio at Hungry Horse and at Browning. Schildt produces art in western and Native American themes including a series called Medicine Lodge Ceremony that travelled as an exhibit across Montana and is now housed at the CM Russell museum. Also painted Reservation Series about Blackfeet living. Several Schildt paintings are also part of a permanent Smithsonian Institute collection. Purchased by Scotty Zion at the CM Russell Museum showroom.
