SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Para. S# 983f. Bbl 3 7/8". Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured by DWM in 1915 for the Imperial German military. The receiver is stamped "1915" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs and an Imperial German reichsadler stamped on the right. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, with some smaller components exhibiting strawed and nitre blued finishes. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching (with the exception of the magazine) and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. CONDITION: major metal components retain bountiful amounts of their period arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear on edges overall, with some scattered areas of light surface oxidation. Strawed components show wear overall, with areas of age related discoloration in worn areas. Bore is bright, exhibiting moderate surface pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, with some scattered nicks and impressions to the diamonds, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. A very attractive DWM 1915 production P.08 Luger. (23-899/MLW).
