This is an original G.C. (Gerry) Wentworth bronze sculpture titled "Sunday Duds". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This sculpture shows an old cowboy dressed in his best Western outfit. The piece shows outstanding detail and artistic ability. The bronze sits on a solid walnut hardwood base with a brass placard that reads "Sunday Duds G.C. Wentworth". The sculpture has been signed by the artist and is numbered 1/20. The bronze is in very good condition. It measures 5" in diameter and is 11" tall. This originally sold in the gallery for $1,200. The sculpture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
