Full stock percussion Kentucky style rifle, signed "W. _ilman" (possibly Pilman or Tilman), showing nice pierced patch box, German silver and brass inlays, in attic condition with no restoration. The riflemeasures 52-1/4" overall, 36-1/2" barrel, approximately .41 cal., of medium weight, double set triggers, plain brass mounts. The lock shows a name which is illegible, and the lock is secured by 1 screw. The woodshows a loss and break at top edge, measures approximately 3-1/4" by 1/4". There are 2 German silver inlays missing from the forend; there is a small repair beneath the front thimble, and the barrel appears to have beenshortened long ago between 4" and 6" from the placement of front thimble. The top of the stock behind the tang shows an oval carving where a German silver inlay rested, and is now missing. There is a half moon in Germansilver above the cheekpiece, and 3 German silver inlays on the left side of the stock. There are 2 teardrop shaped inlays in front framing the sideplate escutcheon, which is sheet brass and an odd shape, almost like a
