Full stock percussion Kentucky style rifle, barrel signed H. Gibbs of Lancaster Pennsylvania. Approx. .45 caliber rifled, nearly 56” overall with 41-1/2” barrel of medium weight. Showing high-qualityconversion from flintlock to percussion with nicely engraved hammer and bolster. The rifle shows a beautiful pierced and hand-engraved patchbox with hinged door and silver accents. The stock is checkered in the wrist. Thereare fancy pierced and worked inlays with silver accents. Incised border trim and raised molding. The cheekpiece shows a beautiful silver inlay with a fine engraving of American eagle. The barrel isdouble-keyed. There are many small engraved silver inlays. The gun has been professionally restored with replacements of wood and refinishing to stock that is all professionally done. The gun shows double-set triggers, a fairly wide butt.
