The gun measures 37” overall with 19 ¼” barrel showing military markings and a Belgian proof. The Belgians converted surplus percussion muskets and traded them all over the world. The metal surfaces show a dark brown patina with light to moderate pitting. The stock shows large brass tacks and dark scorching from being next to camp fires. There is also carved Indian designs in the forend, mainly buffalo horns with arrow and animal tracks also whirlwind sign. The action is not opening due to the firing pin being stuck forward.
