French SxS flintlock pistol, .60 cal., 5-1/4” barrels, gold gilding on breeches, raised carved wood stock; right lock side plate is marked “Lamotte Fils, aine” and “St Etienne” on the left lock side plate. This gun isuncleaned with crisp actions, very good markings, dark bores and a heavy brown patina on the barrels with scattered areas of erosion and pin prick pitting; wood is overall very good showing even wear, someminor nicks and mars and an old repair on the right fore stock at the muzzle; wood ramrod is missing; considerable muted gold gilding remains at the breech area of the pistol; some scattered pitting and erosion, approx.11” overall; the Lamotte family were makers to French royalty in the 18th century.
