Manufacturer: French Model: Palm Pistol
Manufactured in the late 19th century. The barrel is attached to the trigger bar, and the weapon is fired by squeezing the bar, which pulls the barrel back, chambers a round, and then releases the firing pin, with the return extracting the cartridge. No maker's marks are present on the frame and barrel. Grips are beautiful raised carved ivory, with dotted background, raised floral and leaf designs, and a banner with "LE MERVEILLEUX" at the rear. With an original green suede carrying purse, which is rare.
BBL: 2 3/4 inch round

Gauge: 6 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: ivory

Condition:
Good as period refinished. The pistol retains mostly a smooth dark gray patina on the balance showing extensive moderate pitting under the remaining brown refinish. The shrunken ivory grips are fine with some high edge wear. The ivory has aged to a mustard yellow color. Mechanically fine. The carrying purse is very fine with a small area of replacement stitching at the toe and a small tear near the hardware.
