Frankenau’s patent purse pistol containing a 5.5mm DA revolver which can be fired while holding purse. Refer “Firearms Curiousa by Winant”, this type oddity is among the most popular and most sought after of allVari-type arms. The purse measures 4-1/2” by 2-1/2” by 1-1/16” deep. One side opens and shows areas for coins and bills, top portion opens and exposes small pin fire that measures 3-1/2” overall and was speciallymade for the purse with a crown “Z” proof. The original ram rod, the spring mechanism for door which attaches to trigger are all present. The action is working and the door is opening. The leather is good but tattered on the ends and there is some discoloration and staining on plated metal and German silver. The condition is generally very good overall and would improve with TLC and slight cleaning. From an old N.Y.collector’s estate. Est.;$2,500-$5,000.
