A framed hand-embroidered textile, depicting a young man in blue 18th-century-style costume after Gainsborough's 'The Blue Boy'. The embroidery is executed in a counted-thread technique, possibly cross-stitch or needlepoint, and presented within a wide off-white mat and an elaborate rococo-style frame with cream and gilt highlights. The embroidery, mat, and frame are in apparently intact, stable condition, with no visible signature or maker's mark. Likely produced as a home craft or kit in the mid-to-late 20th century.
