Black-and-white steel engraving on paper depicting a sentimental woodland scene with a seated woman supporting a fainting or injured figure, a child at their side, all set beneath heavily shaded trees. The print is mounted within a wide peach-colored moiré silk mat with an inset title plate (illegible in image) and presented in a simple black frame with gilt inner slip. English School, 19th century, the subject typical of Victorian narrative genre scenes. Later 20th-century framing, with framer’s label “Morgan” to verso and wire for hanging.
